Around town: Juan Les Pins, Antibes, Côte d'Azur, France.

Love the retro style buildings that run along the beautiful long beach.

Art Deco old school glamour.

Beautiful deep blue ocean.

Chilling out at Helios beach club.

Early evening still on the beach, by Belles Rives Hotel.

Time of visit: August 2014.

Restaurant review : Balthazar, london

What's the curbappeal?
- the classic European brasserie interior: art deco lights, brass fixings, red booth seats and tiled floor.
- the dilemma?  London already has lots of similar restaurants and they're excellent: the Wolseley, the Delaunay and Colbert (to name a few) are my favourites.
- does it live up to the hype? Unfortunately not, the interior feels  overly-contrived and the quality of the food is average to poor. I had to send back my flat white  because the coffee was burnt. My poached eggs were just OK (quite watery in texture  if I'm being critical).

Sorry but I won't be back

With love,

Restaurant Review: GRANT GRILL, San Diego, California

What’s the curbappeal?
- ‘Contemporary Art Deco’ interior
- Sophisticated and glamorous vibe
- Formal dining experience: perfect for power-meetings over breakfast, lunch or dinner

I popped in for breakfast and tried the honey crumble cereal with assorted berries and yogurt. Crunchy, tasty and filing! I also had a cafetiere of good-quality rich coffee. I mulled over a couple of other breakfast options: ‘Banana Bread French Toast: candied pistachios, golden raisins and glazed bananas with cinnamon maple syrup’, the ‘Spa breakfast: egg whites, goats cheese, olives, grilled onions and peppers’ and, their ‘Breakfast Collection’ of mini-cocktails including the ‘Mini Maple Manhattan - sapling maple liqueur and Jim Beam rye whiskey with old fashioned bitters’. How decadent!

It’s just gorgeous…I’ll be back…

With Love,
Ms. Curbappeal x

Restaurant review: Open Door Policy, Singapore – November 2012

What’s the curbappeal?
- Pared-back interior:  think stripped wooden floorboards combined with old refectory tables and chairs and colourful cushions
- Cool hipster vibe
- Located in the up-and-coming art deco district

We only stopped-by for coffee but the food looked (and smelled) mouth-watering

Travel inspiration: Our Favourite Architecture in Singapore

What’s the curbappeal?
- The contrasts – 19th century vs. 21st century architecture
- The art deco district: an area not yet widely known about. Full of cute local cafes and restaurants. Feels like you’ve stepped back in time. Contact us for the location.
