Restaurant review: Oblix, The Shard, London

I had to try Rainer Becker’s latest opening (he's also behind the renowned Zuma & Roka). I'm pleased to say I wasn't disappointed...

What's it's Curbappeal:
- it's location in the iconic Shard tower (on 32nd floor), offering some fantastic views across London
- glamorous vibe

Food rating: the menu is apparently inspired by a New York grill. A move away from Japanese cuisine, found at Rainer's others London creations. Overall, good but pricey...but those views are amazing...

Some photos straight from my iPhone...

En-route to The Shard

Entrance to The Oblix

The amazing views...looking West towards St Paul's Cathedral

Looking down...

After lunch we popped up to 'The View From The Shard'... (Levels 68, 69 & 72)

Never seen Tower Bridge look so small...

Wouldn't want this man's job..

About Town: South Bank, London

Giant rats...

Very cool Wahaca restaurant - housed in cargo ship containers

Overlooking The Thames & a small man made beach. Love the retro icecream van

Watch the skate boarders...

Love the huge colourful pieces of art scattered around

Unusual seats...made out of wheel barrows

Time of visit: a sunny late afternoon in July (2013)

Restaurant review: Shake Shack, Covent Garden, London

What's the curbappeal?
- hip stateside burger joint, now in London
- delightful sunny patio (queue early to get a seat!)
- drool-worthy burgers
- I had the double shackburger, fries and shackmade Lemonade - all yum!

I'll definitely be back!

With love,
Ms. Curbappeal x
