My suite at the Sofitel, Montevideo, Uruguay

I had a huge beautiful suite, with large windows overlooking the ocean. Very luxurious.

Huge dining/lounge room.

View from the bathroom into the bedroom and then lounge/dining room.

Time of stay: April 2014.

Breakfast at Sofitel, Montevideo, Uruguay

Undoubtably the most stunningly presented and delicious breakfast buffets I've ever had. Topped off by a beautiful light and airy dining room. I'd stay here again just for the breakfast!

Around town: Palmero district, Buenos Aires, Argentina

Vibrant colourful and tree lined district with crazy number of cool cafés, restaurants and bars. This was most definitely my favorite district of Buenos Aires.

Colourful low-rise historic buildings, very characteristic of this area.

48 hours with the girls in Paris, France

Stayed: at the luxurious but cool Phillipe Stark designed hotel - Le Royal Monceau

ARRIVED early evening. Unpacked then relaxed in the stunning Clarins spa. I had the sauna and steam room areas all to myself.

Dined: we got glammed up for a dinner at the swanky Cristol Room, Baccarat.

We then took a look around the beautiful Baccarat museum after dinner.

Drank: we stopped by Le Meurice for a glass of champagne.

FIRST full day:
Dined: we took brunch at Claus. We made a reservation as this small cafe is very popular with the locals and gets full very quickly.

We then shopped, shopped and shopped.

We dined in a local street cafe and then found a spot in a park to soak up some sun.

Dined: we had a late dinner (c11pm) at Monsieur Bleu, a very cool restaurant with views over to the Effiel Tower.

Drank: we went to club, we got there around 1.30am and there was a fairly long queue outside.

SECOND full day:
Dined: after a very late night (c7am finish) we only had the energy to have a late lunch before catching the Eurostar back to London. We went to Avenue, just opposite the Dior store, another Parisian institution. Food was decent enough. Crowd mix of tourists and locals.

Slate coffee shop, Shoreditch, London, UK

Cappuccino presented on a slate...

Old school benches and desks.

Time of visit: Tuesday mid morning in March 2014.

Coffee and cake at The Ace Hotel, Shoreditch, London

Banana and peanut butter cake (I found it way too sweet and sickly).

Time of visit: Tuesday afternoon in March, 2014.

A day at the Bulgari spa, Knightsbridge, London, UK

I booked the Bulgari Break package, which included use of the spa facilities, and two treatments (facial and body massage). A most indulgent (£290), but fantastically relaxing way to spend a day in Knightsbridge. The Bulgari is one of my favourite and lavish spa's in London.

Stunning indoor pool area, I was lucky to have it to myself for the majority of time.

Drinks poolside.

Private cabanas.

Time of visit: Wednesday in March 2014.

Dinner at Cristal Room Baccarat, Paris, France

This was genuinely one of the grandest and most beautiful restaurants I've ever been to. It felt incredibly exclusive, with a well dressed Parisian elite crowd.

Red carpet engarved with (what looked like) little crystals marks the pathway through this grand old building up to the restaurant

Loved drinking from the luxurious Baccarat glasses.

The washrooms were simply amazing. Mirrors and chandeliers everywhere. Stunning.

Taking a look around the Baccarat museum, after dinner.. set in a series of beautiful grand rooms across the hall from the restaurant.
