Restaurant spotted: Zori, Palmizana, Croatia. 11th August 2012
On the way down to the beach from Meneghello restaurant we came across Zori...unfortunately we couldnt possibly eat another bite after our food marathon at Meneghello, but Zori looked good; white on white chic & right by the beach. Not quite as relaxed/ homely feeling Meneghello, but that's not a bad thing. We'd definitely like to try Zori next time

Bar Review: Hula Hula, Hvar, Croatia. Friday 10th August 2012
It's Curbappeal:
- great location to watch the stunning Hvar sunset
- on the rocks by the sea, its quite Cafe del Mar-esque, although with pumping house music & dancing on the beach, Hula Hula is definitely more of a party place
Style rating: cool beach bar
Crowd: groups of young people enjoying the sunset & warming up for a night out
Drink rating: hmmm...drinks in Hvar tend to be weak (not you're usual Continental European measures!), so this kinda spoils the cocktails
The bill: more pricey than your average bar in the centre of Hvar, but this isn't your average Hvar bar
Recommended: loved this bar (sunset, location & vibe). It's a Hvar institution - you need to go. Get there in time for sunset & stay for some 'party warm-up drinks' 7-10pm

Event review: BBC Big Band @ Twilight Delights, Canary Wharf, London (free event)
It's Curbappeal:
- atmospheric: unusual setting for a concert
- sitting on the grass isn't the only option: stylish bars and restaurants, with outside seating, line the edge of the grass

Restaurant Review: Boheme Kitchen & Bar (aka BKB), Soho, London. Friday 17th August 2012
It's Curbappeal:
- its a Soho institution
- floor to ceiling windows, which open onto the buzzing Soho streetlife
Style rating: retro-chic
Crowd: a few couples but largely groups of friends enjoying the vibrant atmosphere
Cuisine: "British with European & American influence" (think burgers, salads & gigantic sized portions of ribs)
Food rating: nothing amazing but it's basic dishes done well
Bill: not too bad
Recommended: if you want somewhere vibrant in soho then for sure. NB don't arrive too hungry as we had quite a wait for our food ('kitchen busy') & that's not the first time that's happened either...
