Restaurant review: Open Door Policy, Singapore – November 2012

What’s the curbappeal?
- Pared-back interior:  think stripped wooden floorboards combined with old refectory tables and chairs and colourful cushions
- Cool hipster vibe
- Located in the up-and-coming art deco district

We only stopped-by for coffee but the food looked (and smelled) mouth-watering

Travel inspiration: Our Favourite Architecture in Singapore

What’s the curbappeal?
- The contrasts – 19th century vs. 21st century architecture
- The art deco district: an area not yet widely known about. Full of cute local cafes and restaurants. Feels like you’ve stepped back in time. Contact us for the location.

Just spotted: hot new hotel opening in Singapore

Whilst we’ve only seen the exterior, here’s what the interior will offer:

·          ‘Hotel in a garden’ concept - with unique “jungle-look” tropical sky gardens – occupying  15,000 square metres of space (more than twice its total land area)

·         Jogging track high above street level

·         Rooftop Orchid Club lounge will have 360 degree views of the Singapore city skyline

Hotel Review: The Fullerton Bay, Singapore, Sat 3rd - Mon 5th November 2012

It's Curbappeal:
- very plush rooms (by designer-of-the-moment Andre Fu): think dark woods, polished metals and deep carpets
- fantastic views of Marina Bay Sands
- rooftop pool (& gym) with awesome views of the Singapore skyline

Crowd: business & tourists

Food rating: huge delicious breakfast buffet from dim sum to cereals to organic breads to freshly made omelettes

Our room: 0112. Deluxe Bay View Room. Ground floor. Amazing views of Marina Bay Sands & large private terrace with sun loungers (much bigger than Bay View rooms)

The bill: not cheap but worth it

Anything we didn't like: we loved this place, but it could do with having its own spa (rather than having to use the spa of nearby Fullerton Hotel)

Recommended: most definitely. Great location & furnished to very high quality

With Love,
Ms. Curbappeal x
