Restaurant review : Scott's, Mayfair, London

What's the curbappeal?
- dining on the patio overlooking gorgeous Mount Street (it's chock-full of high end fashion boutique's including Marc Jacobs)
- fabulous quality food
- people watching

The downsides: it's pricey & the Maitre d' is incredibly snooty/ rude (unless you're one of his regular customers, or a minor celebrity, when he couldn't be nicer and more helpful)

Will I be back? Difficult to say. Our experience with the Maitre d' did leave a bitter taste in the mouth and when you're paying such high prices the service should be excellent for all customers, not just the mildly famous ones...

Restaurant review: Randall & Aubin, Soho, London. Lunch. Saturday 12thOctober 2012.

What's the Curbappeal?:
- The chic interior: light grey marble tabletops on sharing style tables, chandeliers, a huge disco ball hanging from the ceiling, bar stool seating, butcher block tiling & rotisserie counter
- Vibrant atmosphere: loud & uplifting music & chattering diners
- Great for people watching

Crowd: all types; groups, couples, families

Cuisine: Rotisserie & Fruits de Mer are the specialities

Food rating: really excellent. We went for the Calamari Frites (tasted so lightly fried) with pimento salsa to start. Yummy. For mains we went for 2 fish dishes; the grilled line caught tuna served on a bed of roasted vegetables & feta cheese garnished with an olive & oregano tapenade. Delicious. The grilled (to perfection) sea bass served with (a tasty) spring onion, chive & rosemary salsa & (melt in the mouth cubed) curry dusted potatoes. Divine.

The bill: pricey.

Recommended: Yes. Good place to start off for a night out in soho

Hotel Review: Hotel Zoso, Palm Springs, California, USA

What’s the Curbappeal?
- The only 'stylish and contemporary value-hotel' in Palm Springs. Other options favour a more classic-glam look and are more expensive. So if you prefer the modern to the traditional or historic, then this is the one for you.

P.S. here's some photos from my Canon SLR….
