Restaurant review - The Cut, 45 Park Lane, Mayfair, London

What's the curbappeal?

- the glamorous bar for pre-or-post-dinner drinks

- The moody restaurant interior: dark wood combined with amber lighting creates a very sultry atmosphere 

- The very high quality produce: I had the Rib Eye which was juicy, full of flavour and literally melted in the mouth. Sides of sprouts, greens, carrots and spinach, were all perfectly done. 

- Seriously upscale dining: an expensive treat but worth every penny.

Bar Review: Ocean Terrace, Georges at the Cove, La Jolla, California

What’s the Curbappeal?

- Gorgeous ocean views

- Glamorous vibe

- Perfect place to while away the hours

- Excellent choice for sun-downers

We just popped in for a glass of champers after a coastal walk. They’ve a fully-stocked bar and cocktails looked a speciality. As to food, I can’t comment - as we didn’t have any – but the menu focuses on modern Californian with hearty or healthy dishes depending on your mood. I liked the sound of ‘Marinated and Grilled Fresh Fish Tacos’; ‘chilled Japanese soba noodle salad with Seared Rare Ahi tuna’ and ‘Grilled White Shrimp with Tabbouleh Salad’. Downstairs is the contemporary restaurant, which I didn’t have time to visit.

What's the Curbappeal?

- An exclusive private hotel with 12 guest rooms (it’s a beach-side vacation rental retreat)

- Fresh contemporary interior (accented with a hint of retro)

- Coastal vibe

- Personal chef service

- Perfect for cool weddings and private parties (note: guest rooms cannot be booked individually) 

I loved that we were right on beautiful Laguna Beach; the gorgeous sunset from our suite and the neighbourhood – lots of quaint cafe's and restaurants within a 5-10 minute stroll
