Restaurant review: Piazza By Anthony, Leeds (Yorkshire) UK. Saturday 15th December 2012.

It's Curbappeal:
- located in one of Leeds' iconic Victorian buildings - the Corn Exchange

The crowd: young, old, families & couples....i.e. all sorts

Food & drink rating: We thought we could be in for a treat when we spotted Anthony's also have a patisserie & bakery & we were not disappointed...we had the afternoon tea & it was simply divine. Fresh soft bouncy bread filled with lashings of smoked salmon, chicken & egg. Freshly baked scones & delicious melt in the mouth cakes. Given the generous portions we needed a 'doggy bag' for some of our cakes - the food was far too good to leave anything behind un-tried.

The bill: £10.95 for 'full afternoon tea' (i.e. sandwiches, scones, cakes & a pot of tea) was outstanding value given the excellent quality

Anything we didn't like: perhaps the service was a tad slow

Recommended: Most definitely. We normally head to Harvey Nic's for afternoon tea in Leeds, but decided to try out Anthony's & so pleased that we did - we will definitely be back!
